I left early this AM and I hadda feed my chicky gals some mash. I went out to the barne where they stay and dug em a big scooping helping of mash . I was walking over to their feeder trough and they came running like nuns to vespers. They just stood there looking at me like "Ok mac put the mash in the trough and you wont get hurt"
They are securely in my camp and their tufts are getting really big. The tufts give them a quizzical clownish look .
She certainly is, farmer.
Beautiful little critter.
And look at the expression on her face, those eyes ...!
She looks a very curious sort of chicken.

@Butrflynet,
The Araucana lays multicolored eggs. Usually blue, brown, green or pink. These are a cross between full araucanas and reds. The true araucanas have a every prominent tuft on either side of their faces while these the tufts are smaller.

@farmerman,
Yep ! Thats a mighty fine looking chook... I note however that it is wearing a wedding band...
Ive got a brand new batch of Aurucauna chickens , purchased in June. They are beginning to lay nice blue and green eggs and are all quite , at least, seemingly, content. They run up to me and Mrs F for food, they've taken really well to the snow. They even seem to enjoy just running around in it. Seems we will have all kinds of eggs for a while . I have one rooster and hes a Polish rooster who Id like to introduce to the "Girls" when they are nubile chickies.
Heading over to Buffalo Wild Wings this afternoon to help in the search.
