@BumbleBeeBoogie,
One must temper the good news with the bad.

Good news about getting old:
Senior citizen discounts on movie and museum tickets.

Bad news ...:

More susceptible to robot attack.

@tsarstepan,
Are youngsters (teenagers) making those robots?

@cicerone imposter,
They are in fact making these robots as we speak while wearing skirts that only cover their belly buttons and whilst they're listening to the hip hop and the rap rap musics! Mad

@tsarstepan,
Well, if they're listening to hip hop and rap music, they can't be all bad!

Sorry, I can't think of any real benefits at all of old age, BBB.
And I've tried, too.
Just have to grin & bear it, I guess. Neutral

@cicerone imposter,
Well, hey, that's something to look forward to, ci! Smile
I just thought of one advantage: you could terrorize people on the footpaths as you whizz around on those little motorized machines for getting around in.
Right of way, at last!

@msolga,
I was wondering who that lady was who goes around in that motorbike whizzing by my car...

@cicerone imposter,
Well it wasn't me, OK? Smile

Those contraptions (not the motorbikes) can be quite speedy, can't they?
I've had to quickly jump out of the way a few times, to avoid possible injury.

@cicerone imposter,
Here's one!
Not a photograph, but some old home movie footage.
I was driving my car, not riding my motorbike on this day:

@msolga,
When I moved to Albuquerque in 2002, I discovered that people showed great respect and concern for old people. Many times, strangers came to help me with a task which I was having difficulty with.

One young man waited outside a Walgreen store for me to come out because one of my car tires had flattened. He changed the tire for me. So many people unknown to me have helped me as my disabilities became more apparent,

Good friends have taken care of the front and back yards and the house. My two doggies love them.

I have such good neighbors. People in my neighborhood often helped me to get my garbage bins out to the street. They've cleared snow off of my walk and driveway when they saw me attempting to clear them. One neighbor put the 10 garage shelves together for me. The list goes on and on.

Now they insist on helping me at I near 82. That's been an advantage in my old age.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
BBB, Goes to show there are many good people in this world even though the media would have us believe otherwise.

I just read in this mornings newspaper about a business man who ignored the homeless people, until he had a flat tire at night in the rain, and as he opened up his trunk to get out his jack and tire, a man came up and asked if he could be of any help. The homeless man did all the work while the business man in his suit kept his flashlight on the work area. When they were finished, he gave the homeless man the last $20 he had in his wallet. The homeless man said it was too much, but the business man told him he would have given him more if he had it.

Ever since then, he's been kind to the homeless.

@cicerone imposter,
Ah yeah. I remember the time I had to use a walker to get around. Once I got past that, I was almost surprised when people didn't stand aside for me, and failed to jump up and open doors. That was the good part of an otherwise gloomy experience.
