@OmSigDAVID,
Yes, definitely. I think they have a great relationship, from all appearances. Usually, if there's any problem, those kind of things will leak out. I haven't seen any evidence that there's anything but mutual respect between them.

@Irishk,
Someone said he fell asleep during obama's last speech.

He 's made some embarrassing (humorous) gaffs.

Of course he'll keep him; the two together have been extremely successful over the last 3 years, why would he dump a guy who has obviously helped him a lot?

Nobody gives a **** about Biden's gaffes, he's just a funny old guy.

@OmSigDAVID,
He dozed a little -- it was just after lunch, I think when a lot of people get a little sleepy. Tim Geitner was sitting next to him, blinking a lot...maybe trying to stay alert.

Joe's gaffs are funny. I might be wrong, but I definitely think he'll stay on the ticket for 2012.

Do you think there's a better choice?

Quote:
"a persistent tendency to say silly, offensive, and off-putting things";[100] The New York Times writes that Biden's "weak filters make him capable of blurting out pretty much anything".[98] Nor is Biden known for modesty; journalist James Traub has written that "Biden’s vanity and his regard for his own gifts seem considerable even by the rarefied standards of the U.S. Senate."[74]

I like Joe.

Well, except for me, no; but I don 't wanna go around the country campaigning.

If I DID, I 'd rather be on the other side.

@OmSigDAVID,
I'd hate being in the spotlight all the time. Even the president has said he misses the anonymity of his former life.

I think Joe rather enjoys the spotlight. Plus, he gets the exciting job of breaking the Senate's tie votes...although he hasn't had much work of that nature recently, I don't think Smile

Is he still around?

Obama will keep him on one condition... Joe Biteme must double the number of hair plugs in his head before election time.

I 'd HATE to sacrifice my anonymity.

Its possible to get into a frame of mind of enjoying the spotlite.

A few years ago, on a very beautiful summer nite after dinner,
I was waiting for my car outside Tavern on the Green.
I commented on its superb & extraordinary beauty to my dinner companions,
because it was always thrilling to look at it.

A local black politician asked me if I were a tourist.
I denied it; said I 've lived in Queens
for well over half a century (since I returned from Arizona).

He asked me if I watched the news.
I said: "Sure! I wanna be well informed."

He asked me if I watched the LOCAL news.
I said: "Sometimes."

He went back to his limosine.

My friend Marty said:
"that was Percy Sutton; he wanted u to recognize him."
I knew, but I did not wanna play along.

@ossobuco,
Also, if Biden did drift off, he was quite dignified about it. I remember sleeping in my music lecture classes just after lunch with the lights low and the seats comfortable. It was close to impossible not to..

Yeah. I read of a guy that perished during a morning rush hour
in a subway and rode the subway all day, post mortem.
He looked asleep. Maybe he was.

@OmSigDAVID,
People die on subway trains regularly. They aren't usually noticed unless they fall off and start rolling when the train makes a turn.

Regarding Percy Sutton, I don't believe you. The Percy Sutton I met was dignified and far from being a prig. You must have seen Al Sharpton.

Regarding Biden, we might as well keep him, anybody else would steal Obama's thunder...even a corpse.
