@OmSigDAVID,
You dident continue to debate Monteray Jack when you asked for a reference too his post and he gave it, but accept anything waterman posts as complete truth. I think that shows how truthful you are when you side with a lier like waterman but ignore someone who proves his posts.

Without fear there is no reason to hate...
NONSENSE. I fear not Stalin, but I can resent and hate him.

U just make things up,
as u go along, Fido.

David
I have read some psychology, and I am willing to suggest that what you resent and hate in Stalin are the very qualities you resent and hate in yourself projected onto him, and because they are so intransigent and because they threaten to destroy you; and are what Freud described as the death wish... And, you do have the good sense to fear it, and if you followed the social result of your political opinions to their natural conclusion you would find the death of the whole society... But; because you are alien to your whole society, looking everywhere and finding few like yourself in ethnicity or opinion, their destruction even if it means your own destruction is to you- Meaningless...

Patience... You cannot rush history any more than you can stop it when it is running down hill... It is better to educate yourself, be aware of what is going on, and think about how things might turn out if you are in an essential position to give the thing a little push, this way or that... Until you can do some good; stay out of the way... When you think you can do some good, make certain good will result... Keep your mind free, and your body may some day join it...

You must be careful to recognize what is going on... The calm, and immobility of our society is deceptive... We have a log jamb waiting to be swept away by a spring flood... People move out of frustration and long denied need, but only when forced to... Those people in government who want to bankrupt the government and force it into default have the most to lose if that happens... Only the obvious breakdown of the society and the economy will make people take charge of their own affairs... And then, all hell may break loose, and the right has the guns.. It may not seem like much, but being aware is doing some thing, and even that may not save you... Revolutions and counter revolutions are godamned bloody affairs...

@Fido,
The Federal Aviation Administration will shut down at midnight

Quote:
after GOP senators refused to let go of an anti-union provision amending the National Mediation Board’s union voting rules. Speaking of the matter, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) lambasted his colleague Sen. Orinn Hatch (R-UT) on the Senate floor over the political manuevering, saying that Hatch is only presenting “one side of a story”:

We’re going to lay off 4,000 people at midnight tonight. Do you think that means anything to them? What I offered was a clean extension that didn’t get into the merits of this, which said let’s put this big debate aside and that debate aside and keep the agency working, the federal aviation administration. [Hatch] said, ‘No, you either take the Republican approach or else.’

And incidentally, he told you at the outset, the House Republicans have gone home. They’re gone. They sent this over and said, ‘Take it or leave it or close it down.’ That’s not a very sound choice for our country.

As a result of Congress’ failure to pass any sort of long-term funding deal for the FAA, around $2.5 billion worth of airport construction will cease and airlines will have to stop collecting around $200 million a week in ticket taxes. The up to 4,000 furloughed employees will include engineers, administrative assistants and computer specialists, but air traffic controllers will stay on duty.

Says the man that claimed Acorn buses people to several polling places but failed to provide any evidence in support of his statement.

Certainly; if your aim is peace and justice, the last thing you will do is employ violence and injustice...

How is it possible that the public can rate congress with a 19% approval rating, and continue to vote them back in?

Because the whole country has become what the south always was, a place that votes its hates... We no longer vote for a candidate we hope will improve something... We vote against those we know will fck things up worse... We do the best we can with the understanding that we are really denied meaningful choice in our lives.. To a point it is liberating... If we have no power we do not really have to pay attention... But then we have to wake up and grab the wheel to keep the bus from going over the cliff, and the terror of it takes years off our lives with only the prospect of adding moments... The lesson is, that if we ever get control of our affairs we have to keep it, and never trust it to parties again...
