The problem is that you're dealing with the state. My mother had had an insurance policy on me when i was a child, for a thousand dollars. By the year 2000, it was worth nearly $4,000. I kept putting off cashing the policy, dreading the paperwork. Finally, i called them. They faxed me a form. I filled in out, and faxed it back with a copy of my birth certificate and my driver's license. I had my check ten days later--probably a lot sooner than if the state had had the money and i had applied right away.
@Roberta,
Good lord...I hope it's a decent amount!!!
@dlowan,
I have no idea what it is or how much. I'll get the documentation together tonight. (I made a copy of the page.) Then I'll go back and fill out all the forms.
However much it is, it's gonna help.
@Roberta,
Fingers crossed that it's a lot.
Snarling and semiwishing I'd continued procrastinating. Trying to get the funds. How can I provide proof that my parents owned something if I don't know what it is they are supposed to have owned? I have a vague idea about one thing. And an even vaguer idea about the other. I have no idea whether I have proof.
I'm gonna plow through a box of dusty papers--LATER. I'll see what I can dig up.
@dlowan,
Are you still procrastinating, deb? I hope so.
Sorry for kidnapping the thread. Not gonna procrastinate about shutting up.
@Roberta,
I am procrastinating. I'll tell you what about later....
I am too busy not getting things done.
@Chumly,
Yep.....that's hard work all right.
@dlowan,
I didnt paint today. I could have and I should have.
I'm gonna need some place to hide.
I should write a blog post, but I'll probably be lazy and watch TV or eat.

TV wins.
I'm getting ready to press a five pound package of ground beef into patties. Ya gotta remember, there's a lot of preparation to think on before you can start an operation like this.
@roger,
I been putting off dinner for hours.

I'll try to get back to you next month. (Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh?
@roger,
Don't rush it for heavens sake!
I'll get back to ya later, 'K?
