The meaning of LIFE...

This is an example of an assumption, which is not substantiated:

You wrote:
One must first define "LIFE"
Life as we know it is:

"To be empowered to choose and achieve objectives"

Upon what basis do you assert that this is true? Absent any logical argument to support this statement, this is mere ipse dixit, and absent such support, is an assumption on your part.

This is another assumption, which is not substantiated:

You wrote:
What are objectives?

Objectives are {unseen unrealized realities} = {possibilities}

Our {thoughts/imagination/inner vision} are the substance of {unseen unrealized realities = possibilities}

You do not offer even a bare logical argument to support this statement, and it is, therefore, only an unsubstantiated assumption on your part.

Oh, by the way, it's charming how quickly you've descended into invidious and obscene name-calling. It does, however, give a visible measure of your ability to sustain your argument.

@Whatsignificant,
If you choose to argue that “maybe I am wrong” simply because “maybe I am wrong”
Well then “maybe everything you said about me is WRONG” so get over it..

Not everything one KNOWS is an assumption.. but you might assume that it is..

One ought not ASSUSME..

Because you make an ASS of U and ME.

The TRUTH is what it is.. Even if you don't like it..

@Whatsignificant,
You haven't demonstrated that you are describing truth, that you deal in the truth. You haven't demonstrated that your premises are valid. That's all i've been saying all along--that your premises are not demonstrated. I am arguing that you might be wrong, because i'm honest enough to say that i don't know to a certainty that you are wrong. However, for so long as you don't support the assumptions which constitute your premises, i have no reason to assume that you are right, and no reason to assume that you are dealing in truth.

When you approach a green traffic light, do you stop anyway, because you can't assume that cross traffic will stop? After all, you wouldn't want to make an ass of you and me.

So long as you are going to shout, to deal out witless folk sayings and vicious insults, i see no reason to continue to attempt any discussion with you.

@Setanta,
One cannot provide premises if one can belive that premises MAY NOT exist, because what would be the point..

You expect me to PROVE that you have objectives..

I need not prove that which you already KNOW to be the case..

@djjd62,
It is reasoning (reasonable) to distinguish what is KNOWN from what is UNKNOWN..
Even if all that you observe is an illusion, you still KNOW that you are observing it.. thus it CANNOT BE TRUE that ALL you observe is an illusion..
You KNOW you are at least "that which knows it observes"

{i don't know anything is true, even the things i might believe about myself }

{Are you sure about that? }

{absolutely, there's every possibility that my life thus far is all a dream }

@djjd62,
If you know that you know nothing, then you know that... thus you are incorrect..

I know that I exist
I know that I feel
I know that I succeed
I know that I fail
I know that I want
I know that I am poor

I know that I don't know everything
I know that know something..

I know that if we seek to empower each other that we will both be more empowerd then if we did other than wise..

You may not KNOW these things to be TRUE of me..

But you KNOW that they are TRUE for you.

in the end, this was way better in Pee Wee's Big Adventure

"I know you are, but what am I?"

@djjd62,
I thought that you didn't know anything.

What you are is hypocrite, as it is your opinion that

It is TRUE that there is no TRUTH..

I KNOW that I KNOW nothing..

The fact is you do know somting.

You know that you know things thus
You know that what exists is at least "that which knows things"

You simply CHOOSE to deny the FACTS of LIFE that you damn well KNOW..

And you KNOW that you do..

I am not attempting to say "I know you are, what am I" that is your erounous conclusion of the TRUTH that you ASSUME to KNOW while at the same time you argue that you DON'T KNOW anything..

What you are is an idiot.. who thinks that he can belive whatever the **** he likes and its true just because he says so...

The self states, I am RIGHT..

Self-rightous..

@ Whatsignificant I got lost half way through your writing ...

I sort of agree w farmman that the meaning of life is as simple as "enjoying a simple cup of lapsang tea sitting in the sunroom and watching the new day begin."

Why must we complicate it? Seriously "Whatsignificant" ... the answer to your name ~ the simple pleasure of living.

life isn't that complicated, most of it will happen simply by opening the door in the morning, requires almost no effort at all
