I'm going to be renting theater space at a local cinema and draft house for about 200 people.

We can bring in any movie we want for viewing.

I'm looking for something at is a favorite of just about everybody.

No bad language, violence or controversial subjects, as it has to appeal to a wide range of people. A comedy would be good.

Suggestions?

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World or What's Up Doc?--although one might allege that they're dated, they are both truly timeless comedies--no violence, no porn, nothing controversial.

@chai2,
Did you ask this question before, chai, or maybe that was boomer?

How about The Passion of the Christ?

No? ... hmm ...

The Princess Bride?

Can you go wrong with Shrek? (or anything else by Pixar)

The "modern" version of "It's a Mad, Mad ... World" is Rat Race.

Pink Panther movies?

@chai2,
Not a comedy, but if you want a "newer" movie Secretariat is a good movie that seems to appeal to a variety of age groups.

For the best comedy that appeals to all age groups, no swearing and the like, of course it is .....

"The Great Mr. Limpet!"

@chai2,
If you decide on animated or action/adventure instead of comedy...

Toy Story 3 (my favorite of 2010)
E.T.
Hachi, A Dog's Tale
Finding Neverland
The Iron Giant

Secretariat was good.

I like Region's, too.

@chai2,
What are the film requirements for the theater's projection equipment?

Is this for the group's entertainment or a fund raising event?

@Setanta,

I would highly recommend this one. I've seen it many times.

Good comedy is never dated.

I have no doubt that this would offend some.

I liked it though. Wink
