Hi All

I'd been thinking about Groundhog Day, which happens to be one of my favorite all time feel good movies.

I asked because we were having an all day meeting here with the managers of the locations that would be attending, and it was a perfect time to get this all out of the way.

One of the managers, who just recently moved here wasn't familiar with the cinema and draft house, so someone explained it had really good food, and was really fun.
I said "Yeah, actually, that's where I went to see Avatar"

A few people (sorry Tsar, I know you'll be clutching your chest when you read this) said "Oh yeah! That would be a good choice."

I'm sending out RSVP sheets to the clinics tomorrow, with an added section to suggest a movie. I said that if there was one movie that was overwhelmingly chosen across all the clinics, we'd go with that, otherwise, we'd show a recent, popular film.

I know the choices will be all over the place, and some of the suggestions will be ridiculous, so I'm not worried about that.

We also talked about The Princess Bride, Raising Arizona, and another one I can't recall right now.

btrfly - format DVD or Blue Ray. Not a fund raiser, just an staff appreciation thing.

Believe it or not I have never heard the term "cinema and draft house"
I understand cinema. I do not understand draft house.

@dadpad,
oh, sorry

A cinema and draft house is a place where one can eat a meal and drink beer and wine during the movie. They also offer soft drinks espresso, cappachino etc.

Not just popcorn and candy, but really decent meals.

Here the home page of the Alamo Draft House, that's here in Austin. Click on one of the locations, i.e. Ritz, South Lamar, to see the movies being offered, and that theaters menu. The menu for South Lamar, near my house is about 6 pages long.

@chai2,
dont be sorry. I'd just never run across that. dont think we have them here.

I'm curiouse about the logistics of dining while at the movies in a public setting.
Tables? waiters? clatter of dishes and cutlery. taking orders? hows that all work?
Or have i got that wrong. you go eat... then go itno the cinema? take a beer with you.

one last aspect of the Alamo Drafthouse..

As you can see from the link to this location, they have special events, such as Sing -a-longs, Quote-a-longs, girlie nights, tough guy cinema, etc. etc.
They'll have special menus to go along with some of them...

Looks like fun, huh?
