I contributed to the love tsunami! Looking forward to learning what effects it had, if any.

Well now you all have me in tears. This is overwhelming in its generosity and kindness.

Bob seemed much better today. He is talking at a more normal rate and doesn't seem as tired as he did yesterday. He is still dizzy and very weak and can't walk on his own yet. The test is tomorrow morning. Hopefully they will be able to determine for sure what is the cause of the stroke.

One of Bob's younger brothers died suddenly at the age of 45 from something that was stroke related--maybe an embolism. Now his youngest brother is dying-- in and out of Hospice care from a (I think thrombosis). He is 45. Knowing Bob's family history, I was terrified; but he really is improving.

Tonight, he was watching CNN. For Pete's sake--the man just had a stroke and he's watching the news??? He's a hopeless politics-news junkie.

I'll let you all know the test results as soon as I find out.

Love to all.
Diane

I'm late, late, late! But I am so glad to hear that Dys is feeling better.

Diane, we are thinking of you and sending our love - our own little tsunami of love from Germany to you.

When the going gets tough -- the tough get going!

Delighted to hear that things are going in the right direction.

Ahhh...the news. Now there's something to make the tough even tougher.

Diane- I think that is a wonderful sign. Even from his sickbed, Bob is checking up on the news, and thinking of great threads to start on A2K. Way to go!!! Very Happy

Hope that you are taking care of yourself, and getting enough sleep.

Damn, my ISp went down last n ight so I had to send a mini wave at 11 . Im glad to see that hes taking his interests to heart, like watching the news and thinking all kinds of snidely thoughts. thats good. The other complications and symptoms will gradually lessen and he may be required to go for therapy .
Continued good thoughts .
Keep his mind stimulated and dont ket him get depressed, thats a a stage of recovery that needs to be recognized and addressed with talk of plans and thinking ahead as to how youll treat this as a chronic condition that manageable .

Terrific news. It didn't by any chance get rainy and windy last night about 10 pm, did it?

Considering this, I implore you to get him to put off the sticks.

Remember that what doesn't kill him makes him stronger.

Seriously for a moment (and I'm sure if his doctor disagrees with anything I am about to write, then I am gladly overruled):

He'll probably be on some anti-clotting medication for the rest of his life, so make sure he takes it.

And please ask -- no, tell -- him to quit smoking right away.

I wonder if the news will feature the love tsunami that blew through Denver around 10:00PM last night, followed by a smaller one an hour later. Part of the tsunami seemed to have a German accent!!

The test is this morning--they will get a very good look at his heart to see if that's where the stroke originated.

PDiddie and all the rest who are telling him the cigs have to go: he smokes outside and keeps most of his cigarettes in his car. When I bring him home from the hospital, his car will be squeaky clean and free from all those nasty cigarettes! (HAH, he'll be too weak to argue).

Love to all you amazing people. You make me cry, you make me laugh, you give me a foundation.

I'll check back in this afternoon with test results, if they are available.

Love,
Diane

I hope he felt our love and concern (hope you did, too). That is certainly ongoing.

Best of luck re. The Test and getting rid of the cigs. They're hard to stop, but it is so worthwhile.

Allow me a dissenting position on one issue, Diane:

Nobody is going to live forever -- and better to live while enjoying the things you want to enjoy -- than to deny yourself that stuff and live longer.

If he wants to smoke, let him smoke without nagging him!

If he wants to quit -- help him. But if he wants to smoke -- LET HIM!

A little ditty
'Bout Bob and Dia-a-ane
Two 'Merican kids
Livin' in the Mountain land
Bob gonna be
A philosophical sta-ar
Diane's a religious debutante
In the back a Bob's car . . .

Oh yeah
Life goes o-on
Long after
The slings and arrows are go-one
Oh yeah
Life goes o-on
Long after, the frights are all go-one . . .

Glad to know it looks like dawn in the Rockies . . . my best wishes, Miss D . . .

Great, Setanta. That ought to make Diane and Bob feel up.

I do agree with Frank about the smoking, Diane. ('course I would). No sense in putting him through any trauma at this point.

I really know that things are gonna be fine for you both. Hey, ain't I the resident witch? Smile

A little anecdote:
My son and I were driving home from the country and a VW van full of hippies were in the other lane. I gave the peace sign and blew my horn. My son, who was very young at the time, was totally embarrassed for some reason. I asked him, with some amusement, what he wanted me to do. He looked at me with those chocolate brown eyes and said, "Keep your mouth closed and your hands in your lap.". Razz

Quick weigh-in...

I really, really hope Dys stops smoking. I will ask him myself... Dys, PLEASE stop smoking.

But making him stop isn't Diane's responsibility. Really hope he does it on his own, though.

I feel duly channelled. Thanks, littlek!

Or was it chaneled? <sniffing> Yes, there's French perfume about.

And the Weather Channel had something about a huge gust of wind and love over Colorado last night. They were at a loss as to how to explain it. Hmmm.
