Are you absolutely certain that this is not a Monty Python skit?

Actually, it would make a good code pad. So would many other books, of course.

Next they'll be on the lookout for people with wristwatches. Could be used to synchronize the timing of an attack!

"I swear, officer, I was only checking to see if my bus is due soon!"

Why do the publishers of almanacs hate America?

This must stop.

No more almanacs.

We must find and arrest and kill and destroy the terrorists who compile and print them, as they are already here in America, living among us, lurching about like zombies, spreading their evil, corrupting young minds...

...oops, just noticed that Sunday sermon was over yesterday... Embarrassed

And..........the police should be checking into diaries................the kinds with locks that teenage girls use. Imagine the sorts of things that could be cooked up in a diary!

I urge everyone to buy a new almanac. I do almost every year, so, why not this one too?

Hmm, they have the almanacs on the counter at my feed store. Y'know, they have lots of good stuff at that feed store. Garlic starts and lots of hay all stacked up and neat steel tubs and dog and horse oriented products, even cat food.
Y'know, that store is on a main highway in a key state. And, it's on a corner where the highway changes angles from east west to north south. This could possibly add up.

No, no reason to worry, the system works, our government has our best interests at heart, those who fear a police state are crazy.......yeh right! Shocked

It occurred to me that if an almanac is cause for suspicion, possession of a library card must be proof positive of evil intent. In which case we had better start reconsidering the practice of publicly financing shools, that not only teach the dangerous skill of reading but are a burden on the tax payer.

What about those of us who have books in French, German, Latin and Arabic on our shelves? Reading foreign languages is a crime, isn't it? Shocked

Arabic, well, hobbit, there you go, you know how few americans throughout the continent have acquaintance with arabic, and this is especially thin in the intelligence communtiy, I gather... ne'er mind the centuries of intelligence and wisdom in the works.
