Christians-how do you feel about using funny animals (& other things) to convey the Gospel to kids?

There's no rule that says cartoon characters have to be human-a large bulk of them aren't. I've seen things like Veggie Tales:

used to each kids about the Bible.

Does using funny animals and other non-human characters go against the Bible?

What if they had Bugs Bunny types, or Daffy Duck types or Woody Woodpecker types conveying the Gospel to kids? Would you let your kids near them?

My mother who is a pastor says I should draw people not animals.

I was going to do a funny animal comic in which the cats and dogs go to Church.

She is saying God used animals in the Bible very infrequently.

I was saying to her anthropomorphic characters aren't real people.

Is creating them a form of idolatry?

People aren't going to worship them. Kids know they aren't real.

When I was a kid, there was a show called "DAvey and Golith" which was always preaching some moral lesson based upon some Christian code. It was produced by a Fundamentalist cult like yours
