That's absolutely false, Om. This is simply another example of a pedant, [in its most pejorative sense], who knows nothing about how language actually works, trying to buffalo a native speaker who does know how his language works.

Corpus studies show that in speech Here's/Where's/How's/There's + plural predominates by a vast margin, among all levels of speakers.

Where's my keys?

How's your mom and dad?

There's two guys at the door?

Here's the books I borrowed.

@contrex,
Because Om sought to spread yet another lie about language, C. Because Om sought to demean someone's perfectly natural use of language.

People have often read tripe like Om Sig offered and have taken such spurious nonsense as gospel. That's one of the main reasons why all those idiotic prescriptions lasted as long as they did and I'm afraid to say, have.

I could probably think of more good reasons but those two are more than enough.

@JTT,
Why do you seem to spend every waking hour that God sends sitting at a computer correcting every damn fool (and quite a few people who aren't)? Isn't that a teeny bit obsessive?

@contrex,
And here you are, Contrex, right behind my last posting, calling me obsessive.

Even the fools who aren't sometimes need correcting, right, C?
