I dug the heels of my palms into my eyes and doubled over.


I know the sentence was decribing an act by hands. But I don't understand the act in my iamignation. Who can explain the act in simple words to me?

If you turn your hands up and look at the palms of your hands where they join the wrist - this is called the "heels of your palms", a bit like the heel of your foot. And to dig the heels of your palms into your eyes is really to rub them with that part of your hands.
