No one had gone through the steps of this with me. I only had Margie, my best girlfriend in my head, nodding knowingly even though she didn't know anything.

The sentence was said by a young girl who was 16 when she was about to have sex with his sweetheart.
The phrase 'have some in my head' baffles me. Who can explain it for me?

I t helps to put a comma after "girlfriend". As said above "in my head" is the same thing as "on my mind".

I think that you may have some personal pronouns mixed up here, Nancy.
