A cypress swamp is a swamp in which cypress trees are prominent. The cypress, in the United States, has a range from the Atlantic coast on the east to Lousiana on the west, and from southern Illinois on the north to the coast of the Gulf of Mexico on the south.

Unfortunately, i could not find an image which shows the entire tree. Cypresses can grow to be quite tall. Cypresses do not only occur in low-lying, swampy ground either. Some cypress trees flourish in alpine conditions.
