1) AGGRESSION
When the American way is domination,
then every person on Earth is a threat to the American way of life.
So we can create the idea of a threat anywhere we look, in everyone we see, any time we want.
But if we really take that attitude, then
"We owe it to our children
to kill everyone outside the United States
so that only American things can exist."
That's more hatred than the KKK.
2) HONESTY
The pictures of the family members towards the end of the slideshow are most effective. Brainwashing 101!
But MOST of the innocent people who have died for American Freedom are not American.
At least acknowledge and honor them !!
Seeing how we've already wreaked 10x the damage of the WTC in Afghanistan and Iraq,
perhaps 10x of those pictures should show those people
sacrificing and suffering in our name.
"This is someone's family . . .
This is someone's daughter ...
This could be you ...
Someone you love is gone.
This didn't happen to someone else.
It happened to you.
This could be your sister ...
This could be your home ...
We killed them because we were afraid.
We are Terrified."
That is a damn fine point!
All in favour of joining me in the weekly "cowards are us" party?
I was 90A10 . . . i was a school-trained coward--no OJT for me . . .
91B20Y10. Dedicated to the unsoldierly (and apparently unamerican) purpose of treating patients, not killing people.
Was I the only one who had the sense to NOT watch that thing?
I didn't watch it either, but I had a good idea what it was...
When they started with the extensive, florid quote of Sam Adams (Sam Adams, fer chrissake, failed maltster--he never brewed a pisspot of beer in his life--and part-time rabble rouser), i began to get the sickening drift, and bailed out . . .
You guys have said it so well -- especially you, dlowan -- I can think of nothing to add. Is Goebbels still alive? Is he writing this tripe? Have the Twin Towers become our Reichstag fire?
I didn't open it after reading the first few responses.
I thought it was very educational. They used some good techniques, but overplayed it so much that it was clearly obvious. I think I'll show it to my kids and have them analyze what devices were used in it. Good teaching aid . . . to the point of being entertaining!
'Course, my kids giggle at horror shows. TV Generation, you understand. They know putrid crap when they see it.

Now now now, Samuel Adams makes those "Fruity Beers" that so effectively seperate sorority girls from their underthings, if I recall correctly.
On gaining popular support for war:
Quote:...it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
The author is Hermann Goering.
The fact that Au thought this was patriotic and inspirational -- quite sincerely, I believe -- just goes to show how well this type of propaganda does work. Goering was right.
I made the mistake of watching it and like the others, I was disgusted. Why not show the terror instilled on the innocent people of Iraq while you're at it, so we can see both sides of the coin.
If it's all about fighting terrorism, what are they doing in Iraq?
I think it has all been said!
