I wonder if the power company went out of its way to hire bill adjusters with names like Harlene Hammer and Harvey Fist, or if people with names like that were simply drawn to that sort of work.
What is a bill adjuster?
As discussed in a previous thread, if you bounce a cheque or two or three, some companies will send the bill to a collection agency and get them to collect the overdue money. These people can sometimes use strong arm tactics to get the cash. Thus the tough sounding names in the example.
