What are the 2 numbers?

66 and 44

MOU writes after a long absence, "ah, I wasn't here for years...

so, hi everyone, I hope everybody is great"

A blast from the past…hey dude, it is good to see you are still around. I hope all is well with you and yours and that your country is a picture of peace and prosperity.

Rap:

X+Y=110
X=1.5Y
2.5Y=110
Y=44
X=1.5*44=66

I think that nails it.

TTH writes, " …I swear I hardly understand you."

Oh my; I don't think it right and proper for young ladies to swear at all. No siree, Bob.

The son of a friend of mine turned 11 today; Jack Kerouac wrote is first novel aged 11 and Benedict IX became Pope. This got me to a thinkin'

Say you had the number 65,637 could you tell if it was divisible by 11 without actually dividing it

As you probably know a one-dollar Canadian coin is called a Loonie.

What is the name for an object with 11 sides

Yes, if the difference between the sum of the odd numbered digits (1st, 3rd, 5th...) and the sum of the even numbered digits (2nd, 4th...) is divisible by 11, then the number is divisible by 11.

What is the name for an object with 11 sides ? hendecagon

She's grown on me. I'm long overdue for a change, though.

That's called targeting the ad to the correct market. :wink:

Long time nosee Stormy; I hope you are well and enjoying summer.

Mark:

Who is gonna argue with that?

Mark and TTH decide to get together; so they start riding bikes towards each other. They plan to meet halfway. Each is riding at 6 MPH. They live 36 miles apart.

One of them has a pet carrier pigeon (to save any embarrassment I will refrain from mentioning who) and it starts flying the instant they start peddling.

The pigeon flies back and forth at 18 MPH between the 2 friends until they meet.

How far does the pigeon travel

18x3=54 miles since each peddles for 3 hours to meet at the middle=18 ?

"Try, hey blue guy, are you coming back or what?"

Howdy Folks, apologies for my enforced absence; but I am sure you know this is the peak of the rustling season and time is money.

TTH:

Yes! 54 miles; it was as simple as that. But too difficult for all except TTH.

"mark sex change"

From what into what?

Try and Mark were exercising when the subject of weight came up. Try had no problem telling Mark his weight, but Mark said he had more "mass" than he wanted.

He wouldn't come right out and reveal his weight; so he told Try this riddle.

"I weigh 147 pounds plus half of my weight," he said.

How much does he actually weigh

Francis:

133.6 kilograms (= 294.537582 pounds)

Because if Mark weighs 147 pounds plus half of his body weight, the 147 pounds represents the other half. Mark weighs 294 pounds.

(We will overlook Francis's somewhat over exaggeration of an extra .537582 of a pound)

Is it possible to find a simple method of solving:

6751X + 3249Y = 26751
3249X + 6751Y = 23249

(You know there is…) :wink:
