Though nobody can read everything about every place, and what seems to have been the anointed derived from every place... may miss some stuff.

A sad end to Mr. Piffka's Quotes.

To all;
Some of you will be relieved to know I've decided I am too angry to continue this, and so before I alienate what few friends I still have, I have decided to stop.
I want you to know I love you all, every one of you, more than you know, and I am certainly sorry for any negative energy I have brought into your lives. I just cannot understand how the same person can find offensive a few written words, and then find it acceptable to murder a hundred thousand people, ripping apart their houses and bodies with bullets and bombs. How is that possible? Am I insane? Because if I am not, America is, right now. This is not the America of which I am a citizen, this arrogant nation which creates its own enemies, then brutalizes the world in the course of hunting them down. This is not the America described in the Constitution, or in the Declaration of Independence. Except maybe the line "…whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it."
I am on my knees right now, in front of each and every one of you, I am begging you with all my heart, please help to save this nation. Please let America turn away from this hell. Please stop - you are destroying us. I am so deeply ashamed, when I look at what we have done with the nation our parents handed to us.

It wasn't my decision. Mr.Piffka really exists and he really was sending quotes to a whole list of email "victims." Several expressed anger at his choice of quotes and some asked to be removed from his list. He felt he was creating more ill will than anything good.

I have asked him to continue or at least to send them to me. I don't know what he'll decide to do. Let me tell you, it is a sad day in this household. One of his favorite habits every morning was to select a quote that fit the mood of the day. There is a whole sequence of them he had prepared -- each day of the week had a theme.

My poor sweet Mr.P -- I don't know how to make him feel better about this, but I will pass on your encouragement. I loved finding them in my email every morning and was proud to share them with you, too.

Oh Piff, please don't let a few people dictate to you or to Mr. P what you should or shouldn't do.

Most of us share your feelings of what this country has come to. We are ashamed at how this administration has abused its power, with brutatlity and without regard for the truth. I was ready to stop reading posts on a2k because of those who truly believe that we are on the true and right course. Thankfully, I have read articles and posts that express optimism about the energy this has brought to those of us who abhor what has happened and that from now on it will only get better as we are reenergized to fight the good fight.

Bob (Dys) has asked me to PM you about staying because this is one of his favorite threads (mine too). I will ask you publicly--please stay!! We NEED this kind of wisdom: good natured; profound, scolding and wry.

I would be willing to bet that most of us here have had similar reactions to this election and to those among our friends who only see "values" without seeing the corruption behind them. Believe me, they will see the corruption, hopefully before it is too late. Now is the time when we need to be strong and fight against despair.

Take a rest, but please keep your options open about continuing Mr. Piffka's quotes. You have no idea how much this has come to mean to us, even though we sometimes don't post or don't take the effort to mention our gratitude.

Always remember that we love you and Mr. Piffka through you.

And, as a last effort to add to your guilt, remember how sad Dys will be. Sob. His beard is thinning as we speak. Sigh. There is a tear in his eye that isn't simply from cigaretter smoke. He depends on this refuge in the storm of stupidity and bigotry and dark greediness. Yes, part of this is silly, but most is true. Take care of yourself, dear Patty.
