The Author was in a Taekwondo class:
Every Monday night, the instructor demonstrated self-defense techniques. One evening, she asked me to show the other white belts, my fellow beginners, how to do a technique. It was intoxicating. I'd been practicing for only a few weeks and I had already mastered something. I had achieved something physical- me -- the playground klutz, the sideline spectator.
Who can help me to paraphrase the last sentence in an easy way?
A klutz is accident prone or the kind of person who will trip over their own feet or a shadow. I'm assuming a playground klutz is the gangly, uncoordinated kid who sat on the sideline, beside the field or court, watching all the other kids play sports.
