By the way, did Ben kinda suck tonight, or what? I wasn't very happy with this game, even though they won. Both this game and the Ravens game had one glaring and worrisome similarity. They played like **** for a huge chunk of the time. In the Ravens game you can pretty much throw out the middle 30-35 minutes, because the Steelers sucked all through that part of the game. They're just lucky the Ravens decided to suck for a good chunk of the night too. Tonight, they played the first half and then fell asleep for most of the second half. Is it too much to ask them to play a good solid game for an entire 60 minutes!?

But they're here in the Super Bowl again, as are the Packers, the one team I was kind of worried about in the NFC. Two of the classic teams going at it. Should be a good one. If the Steelers play the whole game, that is.

I need this spread!!!. I will win 35 bucks.

You were looking good at half-time fm. The second half must have been painful to watch. I know the feeling.

I saw a spread of -4 for the Steelers so I assume you won 1 point. Is that right?

@kickycan,
That team is so damn hairy.

Not that the Packers aren't.

I'm actually rather optimistic. Aaron Rodgers doesn't particularly like playing in the cold. Playoff games in domes = fantastic. Superbowl = in a dome.

Ben did NOT look good in the part that I watched (last quarter and a bit).

I think that if the Packers stay healthy (and I was worried about Aaron a few times during yesterday's game), they have a stronger team.

@kickycan,
The Jets started coming alive too. Rothleisberger better get better or theyll trde him to Philly.

I lost on da Bearsss, and I lost on Pittsburgh because of the closeness of the score (BASTARDS)

Didn't see the "i" in ARISE at first and pondered on the apparent strangeness of the American psyche. Then I saw it (and pondered some more).

Seems like the Jets thought the Super Bowl was last week.

@George,
For them it WAS last week. Some might say that Jets still made a valiant attempt, albeit too little too late.

Regarding Steelers combo of Offense and Defense, my grandmother might've QB for them and they might've won.

Blimey!! Fancy not being immune from such ridiculous criticism when you have got past the Jets at 8 degrees F with a stiff wind chill and won through to the Superbowl.

@George,
Steelers were that good and in control of their destiny.

I just read that the Vegas oddsmakers have opened with GB as 2.5-pt faves. This seems about right. Or is it?

@Ragman,
They were one fumble, missed tackle or interception from defeat by the end.

And Then There Were Six...
We started with 28 players. Tico and Sozobe have Green Bay. Parados, Edgar, AndyClubber and Realjohnboy have Pittsburgh.
Edgar, Andy and Johnboy went to bed and/or woke up happy. They correctly predicted the Packers and the Steelers in yesterday's games.
In the points part of the contest here, Johnboy has 18 points with the possibility of 6 more if the Steelers win. Andy has 15 and can pick up 6 more with a victory by Pittsburgh, while the same result would leave Parados with 19 and Edgar 18.
A Green Bay win would result in Sozobe ending with 19 and Tico with 15.

@realjohnboy,
Can I assume correctly that if you had ultimately picked Pats (as winners of the whole thing), you're eliminated from the discussion?

@Ragman,
No, Ragman. This is a tough time to be the moderator here. We have two long weeks to kill.
I need to pace myself, rehashing the same statistics and anything else I can find to toss in.

I have you as being at 12 points after your correct pick of Green Bay. But you are now on the bench after picking the Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Several people are ahead of you and are still active while you sit on the bench.
I said earlier that my scorecard was not as user friendly as I had hoped it would be. If I have erred, let me know.

@BillW,
Coach Ryan of Jets insists he's still going to Super Bowl. No one has the heart to tell him he's going as the half-time entertainment. Let's hope something about his wardrobe (parade float) doesn't have failure a'la Janet Jackson style.
