For a Friend

Today, my friend Pam, lost one of her horses. Her name was Toot. Pam had her for almost three years. The vet came out a few days ago to treat Toot and she looked like she was getting better but today was declining. Pam called Dr. Odom and he said to bring her in right away. By the time they got there, Toot was laying in the trailer seizing and passed quickly.

Pam is an avid horse rescuer. If it were not for her, I would not have Little Miss Joy, Lulu, or my precious mule, JJ. Toot was not a rescue horse. Pam loved her so much and she is so brokenhearted about this.

Would y'all mind praying or sending loving thoughts for Pam? My heart is breaking for her but there is nothing I can do.

R.I.P. Toot.

@Arella Mae,
Yes; such is Nature.

I hope that Pam knows that Toot
is OK in a better, happier state of mind. www.IANDS.org

@OmSigDAVID,
She knows David but unfortunately, it doesn't ease the pain. She is a tough woman and will be okay. Prayers and good thoughts for her will help I believe.

@ehBeth,
She is a good friend to me and a most wonderful friend to horses. I posted the link on her facebook and told her it came from you. The poem is beautiful. Thank you so much for it. I am sure it will give her some comfort.

@Arella Mae,
I hope that Pam will remember only
the happiness that she shared with Toot,
and not any pain.

@Arella Mae,
I have often found the Rainbow Bridge comforting.

@ehBeth,
Pam has lots of friends in the horse world and they are all rallying around her on facebook. You know, it's what friendship is all about. Being there when someone you love is at their lowest point and letting them know they love you. Thank all of you so much.

@Arella Mae,
That's absolutely true about friendship. Friends are there when things are really horrible. Whether they can be with you in person, or have to support you at a distance, it means so much.

Again, Pam is lucky to have you. It's clear in your posts that you truly care for your friends.

@ehBeth,
You are very kind to say that. I really feel kind of helpless though. But, I know that losing a beloved pet is not something you can just take the pain away for anyone.
