Then the students built a model flower, acting out the roles of the stamen, pistol, and petals.
What is the pistol?
It's a portion of the reproductive organs of a flower--but i believe that is not correctly spelled. I'll go check.
That is a misspelling. The word is propertly spelled "pistil." I have an illustration for your here:
@PennyChan,
It's a verb meaning intoxicated in the past tense. e.g. Dad drank a 2 cases of beer and three bottles of bourbon on the weekend and was pistol Tuesday.
PennyChan, please disregard the stupid and unhelpful post by hingehead. It is nonsense.
PennyChan, please disregard the patronising and humourless post by Contrex. It is facile.
