I was threading/treading through traffic in/during the morning rush hour.

Which words in bold should I use?

Thanks in advance.

@tanguatlay,
Threading. Like a thread following a needle, or like weaving your way around obstructions.

I favor during over in, but don't see any problem with 'in'.

@roger,
Unless you were walking, of course. Then you could tread your way through traffic, but this isn't very likely if there is very much traffic.
