@aidan,
A black person self-referencing as 'colored' has happened to me, as well. I just assumed he was using terminology that he suspected I used. Doing in Rome, so to speak... But, I didn't ask. When I answered, I used 'black,' 'cause I dislike 'colored.'

@spendius,
One of my favorite terms of endearment is 'pussycat.' My fiance's daughter asked him about it when I initially met her... I've since restricted it to people I know much better. It seems to come with unintentioned baggage.

I like using 'cat.' I mean it as a compliment.

...and that's because he's yellow.

(edit)
Okay, that was a little low. I think I have some passive-aggression for all the 'good-ole-boys' I see riding around here with their bad-ass huntin' duds and confederate flag vanity plates...

I don't know if it's because he's "yellow" in the sense of being cowardly, but, unless he happens to be walking through a particularly bad part of town, I would say that he probably has issues.

I suppose some people carry guns simply because they want to be armed in the very unlikely event that they come across a situation in which a gun could save lives, but I suspect they are unusual.

It seems to me more likely that the person wants to have a sense of power.

Not a reason to outlaw guns, but not a good one for carrying one either.

@OmSigDAVID,
If you had art experience in mixing colours you would be aware of how silly your statement is.
