1. I prayed in my heart before explaining to my husband that in our religion, we offers/offered prayers for our deceased ancestors during our morning and evening prayers.

2. I prayed in my heart before explaining to my husband that the practice of our religion offers/offered prayers for our deceased ancestors during our morning and evening prayers.

1. Should it be 'offers' or 'offered'?

2. Which is the correctly written sentence?

3. Are there errors in the sentence?

4. If neither sentence is fine, could somebody please rephrase it for me.

Thanks in advance.
