The results in a number of recent elections makes me wonder whether the Republican Party has a purpose. Please see:

Opening statements like:
Quote:
The grass-roots network of voters,
tell me that while we might not know if the TP is taking over the GOP, at least idiots are still getting pieces in the AP.

Based on information from the last week, it doesn't seem the GOP is happy to have the Tea Party.

OH AND HI TO ALL MY OLD FRIENDS. GLAD TO SEE YOUR STILL AROUND SET!

It's great when you spoil the puppy, your new best friend, but when it becomes a snarling beast...

Interesting how the No Party has evolved into the Tea Party; but that's to be expected from a group who thinks everybody else is wrong. Maybe, another sub-branch of conservatives will evolve from the two parties now splitting their party for those who can't abide by the No Party or the Tea Party.

I think it's in their genes.

YES; the GOP is supposed to be the party of Originalist Americanism (as amended per Article 5).
It represents the vu of Barry Goldwater, whose Presidential career was assassinated in 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald.

@hingehead,
What is wrong with someone funding the Tea Party? We are a grass roots movement. A vast majority of the people who support the Tea Party have not done any type of activism before. I know that I had not till I attended my first Tax Day protest. 2 years later and I'm still involved and help in little ways. I don't attend all protests, but I do attend some meetings, and if you have ever attended one, then you would know that there are no professional activists involved. In fact I almost stopped attending meets because of the lack of preperation and clearness of purpose. In the last year things have gotten better and seem more focused.

So far there is the claim that it isn't a true grass roots move and we are all racists. What is going to be next?

Perhaps not all those support the tea party are racist, in fact most probably are not. However, there have racist gimmicks and slogans used by tea party leaders.

For example:

Quote:
Carl Paladino, the Tea Party candidate who won the Republican primary for the nomination for Governor of New York, has a history of controversial veiws and racist jokes. Paladino sent a video, popular on the neo-Nazi website, Stormfront, showing African tribesmen titled “Obama Inauguration Rehearsal,” a picture of Barack Obama dressed like a pimp and Michelle Obama dressed like a prostitute, a picture of a plane crashing into a group of Africans with the title “Run Niggers Run” and a video called “Proof The Irish Discovered Africa” that featured monkeys dancing in emails that were recently uncovered.

@OmSigDAVID,
OSD, You are one of those who continues to miss the message. Look again at your list, and tell us what they mean to you and the country?

I want details, not your usual rhetoric without much common sense.

Yes I have, and I like the idea of getting rid of the RINOs. Much like the Dems want to rid themselves of the Blue Dogs.
