That article I posted says he believes they lied to him about there even being a deal. Personally, I'm with Miss Eva on this, he's doing it for the publicity. There is a youtube video of him at his church. The elders are carrying guns in the church. What he is doing isn't coming from God that's for sure!
In Colonial America, it was required by law that the people take their guns to Church.
In the same spirit as modern compulsory seatbelt laws,
Ministers checked to make sure that thay were armed.
Apparently, thay were losing too many Christians on their way to Church.

Within the last several years, there have been some massacres
of unarmed congregants in Church by murderers who KNEW
that their intended victims woud be unarmed and helpless.
It is dangerous to go around in an unarmed condition, no matter WHERE u go.

Its a lot better to HAVE a gun and NOT NEED it,
than it is to NEED a gun and NOT have it; (that can be very embarrassing).

Remember: Jesus said that we shoud buy swords,
if we don 't have any. Luke 22:36
I think that extrapolates to .44 caliber revolvers in modern times.

Oh, honestly. I don't know which is more tiresome...the arguing between Muslims and Christians, between progressives and fundamentalists, or between David and c.i......<throws up hands>

I'm sure you're right, dys. Guess it was just wishful thinking.

Tomorrow is Saturday. That's 24 hours 'til the maybe-we-will-maybe-we-won't Koran burning. Now that Jones has made it into the international spotlight, I'm sure he'll find some way to stretch this out more than 24 hours.

Oh, Andy Warhol....would that you were right, and he'd only get 15 minutes.

@OmSigDAVID,
Yes, Lil Man is a 12 year old Paso Fino Gelding. He's a real beauty but needs to gain weight, which he has started doing. There are some pics on my facebook of him. I'll put some on my JJ thread this weekend.

@OmSigDAVID,
I can't deny that there have been people killed in churches and for that reason I can sort of understand the elders with the guns. I'm afraid I'm a bit jaded concerning Pastor Jones'. I really am and maybe I shouldn't be. But, his book, Fred Phelps, etc., it just reeks of PR stunt to me, and a dangerous one at that.

No, horsebreeding is very time consuming and very expensive. I seem to be more into the rescue end. Lil Man was given to me by someone that couldn't really afford to keep him anymore.

What will he DO if he finds that he was betrayed and the mosque is not moved ?
Tho the anniversary lasts 24 hours, he has forever to burn Korans,
if that is what he decides to do; so does any of over 300,000,000 million other citizens.

In my book, this guy is just a step in front of the Tea Party morons.

everybody wants to take America back in time. he just wants to go a couple hundred years further than they do.

back to when their team was on top...

we need to move forward instead. and quit hating.

@OmSigDAVID,
OSD, We have been betrayed by our country; you probably don't know or remember US history before and during WWII.

You also fail to understand the US Constitution.

You are a hopeless, ignorant, bigot.

I don't want Muslim Americans to go through what we did based on American ignorance.

As for Eva, I suggest you just scroll through our posts.

AGREED; very dangerous.

It woud be a horror if even 1 American soldier were killed because of that.
From the little information that I 've heard of him,
I cannot judge the state of his mental health; crazy or just poor judgment.
Either is possible; maybe both.

@cicerone imposter,
U sound a bit more lucid, at the moment, C. I.
Therefore, I will respond to u.
(I had resolved to leave your confusion alone for a while.)
If u r not able to understand, then u might ask someone u trust
to explain it to u.

cicerone imposter wrote:

I surmise that u refer to the Japanese internment in 1942.

cicerone imposter wrote:

Yes; as to this point (internment during war)
that is true. Tho I 've read the Constitution numerous times,
in my mind, jurisdiction to do that remains an open question
and I have an open mind as to that issue. On one side, it can be
argued that government was not granted jurisdiction to do that,
tho on the other side, it can be argued that government was granted
power to wage war & to suppress insurrection
and internment might be incidental thereto; maybe.

I believe that, in retrospect, it is the consensus that the Japs in America were not disloyal to America.
However, in fairness to Frank Roosevelt,
in 1941 and 1942, it was uncertain whether the Japs in America
elevated the Emperor of Japan (whom thay might well have deemed a god) above loyalty to America.

If it had been otherwise, and IF the Japs really had been loyal to the Emperor
then having 1000s of saboteurs running around wrecking everything
might not be tolerable.

IF there really were such a group (be thay Japs, or Moslems or any group)
that woud not be tolerable. I m pretty sure that woud not have been allowed in Japan.
(Correct me if it WOUD be allowed in Japan.)

cicerone imposter wrote:

I am ignorant of literally trillions of things,
as is EVERYONE else, except u of course.

U imply that u r omniscient (not ignorant).
I don 't believe u.
You are a fake; a CHARLATAN. U r as ignorant as the rest of us.

It is true that I am a "bi Gott" in that "by God" as the Viking said,
when he refused to kiss the foot of the King of England.
Like the Viking, I have strongly held views, tho I keep an open mind.

Your redundant repetition of this point is thus conceded.

If Moslems in America (unlike Atta and friends) cause no trouble,
then thay shoud not be interned, but if thay all start blowing things up
or nuking us, because thay think Allah likes that (anything like Atta did),
then we might need to take another look at the situation (if we still exist).

@OmSigDAVID,
It's not only about the internment of AJA's in America. It's how the citizens of this country through their ignorance and bigotry advocated for our imprisonment even without any charge of crimes; a in direct opposition to our Constitution.

What this issue has done is bring out all you ignorant bigots into the open. You guys know how to destroy a great country.
