Yesterday, my cat Mimi, gave birth to one kitten. She gave birth early. I think the storm we had yesterday brought her labor on. The kitten seems to be okay. It seems to be completely formed and has all its hair. I am concerned because it is so very tiny. I am giving it some replacement milk along with the momma feeding it because it is so tiny.
I am not all that good with nursing baby kittens and I want to do whatever I can to help this one. So, how much milk do I give it and how often? Should I be giving it the replacement milk at all? I keep it covered because it gets so cold and that worries me too.
Any and all help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated. I've never had a premature baby kitten before and I'm not sure if it needs anything special or not. I haven't talked to my vet but will be giving him a call.

depends how early and what MaMaKitty can do to feed...
seems to be lots of advice, some differing - I'd give the vet a call to be on the safe side to get some one-to-one advice.
Perhaps Pdawg will be along and can be a little more helpful than the above.
Good luck - would love to see pics if all works out OK
Oh, my, what a tiny one. But, he looks healthy. I would give it and mom a slightly warm heating pad. Doesn't mom have enough milk? I only gave my kittens milk when newborns if the litter was large. I gave them supplement when they were being weaned. One kitten? Never heard of that but, I guess, why shouldn't it happen? Good luck with this one.
@Arella Mae,
He is a
Golden Beauty.
See what the veterinarian thinks (the good one).
Do mother n kitten have a good, soft, warm nest ?
What is his name ?
How is he doing ?

@Arella Mae,
Oh Arella - such a tiny wee kittie - how did you manage through the night? Did you get to speak to a vet yet. I think the most important thing is keeping the littlun warm and snuggled - do you have a pipette you can use to give warm water / supplement if he/she cannot suck yet?
Hoping to hear that you're managing to get something down.
ahh, give him/her a little stroke from me and a big stroke to the MaMa kitty.
I just went to check on the baby to feed him/her. He/she didn't make it.
@Arella Mae,
animals tend to know that their babies will not make it way before we do.
Thats probably why the mom didnt give it much attention.
Im sorry
@Arella Mae,
Sorry to hear this, Arella Mae. Sad.
@Arella Mae,

Thanx everyone. Yeah shewolf, I know you are right but I had to try.
@Arella Mae,

Relax; he is still alive, in perfect health. He only
molted.

@Arella Mae,
Oh I'm sorry to hear that, Arella.
Poor tiny little creature.
Oh, I thought surely he would make it. I know how you feel, I feel really sad too. When we took this kitty home (my avatar) Nixie, she was 5 weeks and starved. I had to force-feed her for awhile, which is rather disturbing. So much work, I finally slept with her in the guest room. My favorite of all and any pets I've had. But, I think that way about whatever pets I have at any given time. You tried.
