@Dutchy,
Both of my cousins's sons did that, in southern california. One was tall, one was shorter, both sharp. Well, what am I saying with 'was'. One now a teacher, one now a techie. I probably have pictures if I find how to download (my I photo seems to be gone..) Anyway, both life savers.

EB! Ossobucco! MsOlga! And every weak or nonswimmer here at a2k, you are invited to this summer's a2k Anchor Meeting!

You rang, tsar? Smile

Bring your rubber duckies, your life vests, your life rings, your arm floats, whatever floats you and keeps you from drowning.

And we will be interviewing for the life guard position to stay ever vigilant and keep us from drowning.

Excellent idea!
Count me in for the interviewing panel!
I'm certain to need saving this coming summer!
Oh I hope we have lots of applicants!

But I dunno about swimming (or dog paddling, even) in this. Looks a bit ominous & threatening to me! And dark!:

I had something more like this in mind. Ahhhhhh!

@dagmaraka,
Perhaps you could consider the lifeguard position, dag?
It sounds extremely prestigious! Smile

@msolga,
i would, but i don't dive... had many middle ear infections as a child and won't go underwater. so i will only be a lifeguard if people pledge not to be drowning, or if they must, on surface only.

@dagmaraka,
Those are rather restrictive conditions.
But I'm sure the selection panel will take your reasons into account if you decide to apply! Smile

I think the idea is that the lifeguard will risk life & limb, heroically jumping in to save us weak swimmers when we're in dire straits in the water... when not basking in the glory of her/his special lifeguard throne, of course! Very Happy

Paradise Beach, Asilah, Morocco. I propose we go there today. I've been there and it was heavenly.

@dagmaraka,
No worries about drowning, as a trained life guard, I'm an expert in mouth to mouth resuscitation!

Oh that was rather harsh. Sad
It's not that we're non-swimmers, we're just very crappy swimmers, dag. But we try our best, we really do ... <sniff>
I only venture into really deep water when I'm wearing my floaters. Wink

You can be the deputy life guard behind the dog. Do you mind taking orders from a mutt? Wink

@Dutchy,
Oh this is going to be a mighty tough competition, I can see that! Very Happy

(Sorry, I missed your application, Dutchy. I got a bit carried away with that gorgeous stretch of beach in Morocco & dog paddling & floaters & other things .. )
