From your link ... In Australia today: A deadly redback spider catches and drags up into its web an even deadlier and still alive brown snake. A redback’s venom causes its prey’s insides to melt into liquid so they can drink it, so once this spider started biting the snake in its web, the snake didn’t stand a chance.

Red backs aren't deadly any more. There's anti venene. Also, they are not aggressive at all.

And they are quite small spiders so that snake is a wee little one.

In Thailand, they sell fried insects from sidewalk pushcarts. I did the beetles, the grubworms, crickets and grasshoppers, etc. I drew the line at the 2"-long cockroaches. I mean, srsly.
