@mysteryman,
I left it in a scuzzy jazz club on Columbus Avenue that I don't remember the name of, where I used to go listen to the hottest jazz in Boston and suck cheap beers. Was that you under the table next to me eyeballing my elegant apparel?
@2PacksAday,
I do have a great old men's gabardine trench coat I bought at a thrift in the mid seventies.. I hemmed the sleeves. It qualifies as an overcoat, to be worn over, say, a suit. It's still great, but less useful here in Albuquerque than the pacific northwest..
Before my great fire, maybe 1980, men's tuxedos became fashionable for a short spell. So, a friend and myself wore my husband's 1950s white tux and loud plaid jackets complete with cumberbun,with tight black slacks. Also wore his U.S.Navy blues and white sailorsuit tops with huge collar (loved those).
Husband used to sing in the loud Scottish plaid tux, a red/black one and a teal/black one.
@Pemerson,
Sounds absolutely wonderful. I also love the navy pea jackets with the wonderful buttons that had anchors on them.
I like to wear my cotton t-shirt while I am going to bed.
Don't know about my closet, but I've got blankets on my bed that my parents got as wedding presents - in 1959.
I've got a motorcycle jacket that I've had for 18 years, and in a box in the garage, I've got a lumber jacket that I've had for 32 years.
I have a blue wool sweater that I have had for 49 years. I still wear it and except for a small hole, it is in perfect condition.
I have a snug cardigan I have had for 12 years, but apart from that I have a habit of giving old clothes to charity shops.
