Someone, apparently, is going through each thread that I am a part of... on pretty much any topic, and anonymously thumbing down each one of my posts. I state my opinions freely on controversial topics; thumb-downs there don't surprise me. But, even my harmless joking posts on non-controversial topics are being thumbed down.

Not that I mind, in fact I am kind of flattered. There is no one on A2K that I would expend that much time and effort on. But, the anonymous part kind of bothers me a bit.

If I have such an admirer, it would nice to know who I have impacted so much to warrant this special attention. Would you like to identify yourself and explain what I have done to you?

Is anyone else getting anonymously thumbed-down this way?

FWIW: If there were one feature for my A2K wishlist, it would be attaching names to thumbs to make the anonymous thumb down (or up) impossible.

@Intrepid,
I am glad that at least you had the guts to come forward with that admission, Intrepid. I was pretty upset with that thumbs up Wink

@ebrown p,
I've noticed several people who complain of the same thing. I guess it is pretty easy to click on someone's name and see all his recent posts, but it's amazing someone would go through the trouble.

Hm, I never even notice those thumbs up/down or the number next to it.
I read the topic and the replies and that's it. I don't even bother to use the
thumb feature, why would I? If I don't like someone's post I will let it be known
verbally.

@ebrown p,
Who cares? What is the harm one way or another?

In addition, you do know that you are likely to get others to follow suit just for the hell of it now that you had complained?

The little personal devil of mine even whispers that suggestion into my ears.

@ebrown p,
I've noticed that. When it bothered me, I used to try to fix it. Now, it's not worth the bother, except for those few who clearly seem upset.

@ebrown p,
There has/have been one or more posters doing this in a way that seems to make no sense for at least a year, maybe two years. A few of us started topics on it, slightly stupid in itself, but a natural reaction, just like this one. On other news, sometimes the thumbs do make sense after consideration. There were, for a time, a lot of thumbs against the Bad Girls (whom I tend to like the posts of). That's someone with a point of view.

Of course, someone may be after you. But also, maybe not.

Be well.

@ossobuco,
Who are the bad girls, osso? Wink

I don't know, everyone is more sensitive on some days and tougher on other
days, but I never ever cared about the thumb numbers, nor would it make
a difference in my posting style. In my opinion: this feature is way too overrated
and for all we know - some guests/kids might be doing it.

@CalamityJane,
Agree! I never notice them either, and when someone points it out, I never even both to look to see if I have a thumbs up or down. I couldn't care less. Nice to see you, CJ Smile If you want a good beef recipe, go look at the - never mind, can't think what it is at the moment Smile Sorry!
