What does fighting against the loss of our fundamental rights as citizens of this country have to do with hating any one particular person? Why is "Y'all just hate our glorious Prez!" the ONLY argument that the Right can put forward when someone questions if we're doing the right thing? No, wait... "Mushroom cloud! Sorry, but had we not cut counterterrorism funding (Guess who did THAT) and didn't get so lax on our security, this could have been prevented! Al-Q isn't this super sophisticated group... hell, if they were they'd be doing MUCH more damage around the world. A group of people got lucky. That's it. Yes, it was a hard hitting blow, but it all boils down to the fact that they got lucky.

As for the "I have nothing to hide!" schpeel... well, neither do I. I just don't want people snooping through my ****. I like my privacy... remember that word? PRIVACY? That thing we had before all this warrantless crap happened? You are letting this country fall down a slippery slope... privacy turns into presumed guilt... "You don't want us searching whenever we please? GUILTY! GITMO!" Then your little "nothing to hide" stance starts to erode "Innocent until proven guilty" and then we are SCREWED. You don't get it, do you? Once these fundamental rights are taken away... YOU NEVER GET THEM BACK.

Remember... the PATRIOT act was supposed to be TEMPORARY. There was never supposed to be any form of extension or modification to that thing. Oh, but that's okay... 9/11! Terrorism! Mushroom cloud! Dead children!
