I have a very pressing worry, over the past few years of my school life i have been hearing an awful lot about some bloke who goes by the name of William Shakespeare. Now who the blazes is this fellow???

I have persistently asked my English literature teacher, but all he does is 'ummm' and 'ahhh' about it then change the subject, asking the class some pointless question usually along the lines of 'has anyone ever heard of the bible??'

I heard from friends that he's written a few plays... but im still in the dark. I wrote a play at primary school but that doesnt mean everybody knows who i am does it? If anyway one can 'throw me bone' here i will be very grateful and may well save myself further embarrassment at school.

oh, one more thing.. what is the bible? Embarrassed

I strongly suspect that you're attempting to pull our collective leg here. Even if you are serious with this question, i doubt that most people here will take it seriously.

LOL...

"Kevin Bacon" shows up in one out of every six threads in A2K....

(The Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon)

Now, as for William Shakespeare... I think he's living in retirement in an old folks home... comparing his life to a summer's day...

:-)

There's no Bacon in the Old Testament, as it's not Kosher. The Old Testament was written by Christopher Marlowe, by the way.

I just can't work up any interest in this topic . . . i have of late, but wherefore i know not, lost all my mirth. This goodly frame, the Earth, seems to me but a sterile promontory. The air, look you, this brave o'erhanging firmament; while it appears no other to me than a foul, infested congregation of vapors!

What a piece of work is man . . .

Okay, the truth must come out. Now that I am well over 500 years old, I can no longer hold back my secret. I wrote the entirety of Elizabethan theatre, under many nom de plumes.
