I have seven grandchildren. I want the season to seem much more magical to them than it was allowed to be for me.
truth
Edgar, that's seven very good reasons to play Santa Claus.
JLNobody -- You know what? You look familiar to me.
There is definitely some resemblance.
truth
Only fraternal. Amazing the resemblence.
How did this ever happen?
You'z guys just don't know who your father is?
The mother may be Frankemp, who also looks amazingly similar.
truth
Mother Frankemp? Oh where is she?
No, she is a fairly new member. Roberta, of course, resembled you both for a long time, and she was a very early cat here, perhaps the earliest, Empress cat in a stalwart lineage.
Well, it's all set: Christmas Eve at my nephew's new home. Every year all the relatives gather at a different house for a big get together. It was originally started to honor my mother-in-law, but it's gotten bigger than that.
Christmas morning we have traditionally had the kids bring their families for gifts and dinner; this year, in deference to my daughter's having three kids of her own, we will gather at her home.
Then we can come home and spend the rest of the day quietly. I took the entire week off, so we will have lots of time to do things together.
New Years Eve, we generally stay at home. As a recovered alcoholic, I may have a single can of beer or a glass of wine, but, truthfully, I don't care much for drinking anymore. Hopefully, 2004 will outshine 2003 politically. As for my personal life I could not be more content. Hope the season finds you and yours well.
Looks like we're spending christmas day at my sister-in-laws in San Jose. I thought my wife and I were going to spend a quiet christmas at home, and go out for dinner at a restaurant. ** We talked to our son in Austin today, and it seems he may be staying there for another year creating a data base for the Army. He doesn't seem to be concerned about moving to another community or buying a house.

I have fond memories of living near San Jose (Campbell). I attended various of my school years there, including the sixth grade. We often went hiking to Los Gatos, which was all trees and quite beautiful. None of the relatives from that part of the state are alive now. We just have a few scattered here and there in California. I would be lost out there now.
We also lived in the hills near Milpitas (sp) for a year.
