No violence in the streets, no one is raping in the stadiums.. In fact, it's a perfect picture of the way the evacuation system is supposed to work.

my point was close to a million people are displaced now with no hope in sight just like Katrina and the government still hasn't "made it all better", and you shouldn't expect them too cause they aren't your parents. The argument made by some after Katrina was that if it wasn't a black neighborhood the government would have done more.

Well you don't get much whiter then Malibu and there's no relief in sight at this time

Had to wait in line at the bank? Racism.
White man got the right of way at a stop sign? Racism.
Built your home below sea level, ignored evacuation warnings, and tried to loot your own neighborhood after a catastrophe only to find that the government was going to take some time to get in gear? Racism.


Have you learned NOTHING from the black community? They are oppressed and discriminated against, and so they need all the help the rest of the country can be coerced into giving them. White people losing their homes in California? **** 'em, they'll work it out.

Oh, you know my answer to this....it is precisely being fixed for the very reason....It's mostly "white people"....."rich white people", at that, who have lost their homes...so, you can trust "that check" is in the mail, baby. Make no mistake.

only insurances checks for people who pay insurance premiums

I guarantee that poor people in government housing will undergo the exact same problems they underwent in Katrina, just one of the draw back of having the Federal Government regulate ANYTHING

yes it is a shame. I think maybe in the spring when they weren't getting the rain just maybe something should have been done to remove some of the brush or maybe cut firelines before it was a real danger. Awww mankind just doesn't prepare with the attitude of "not going to happen to me".
Like I posted a while back even after the Levy Shoemaker find the money spent on discoveries of NEO isn't much more than what it cost to run several
McDonalds. We are a wierd creature aren't we?
