@Silverchild79,
My point proven. We can't stay on topic.

I still think the sentence as written would have been better with fewer, since you would be counting the gaffes, but so as to not continue a pointless tangent, I will shut up.

Well, sorry if I don't.
" "Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that
damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs
and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged".

President Abraham Lincoln"

Well , as George W. Bush has proved, beyond the shadow of a doubt, even Presidents can be wrong...my take is congressmen who don't take correct action, by ending an unjust or "wrong-headed" war, damage and undermine the American populace, whom they represent, and voted them into positions of power, and have the power to vote them out of said positions...and if they do (damage and undermine the American populace) they should, indeed, be arrested, exiled or hanged....even an American President.
Lincoln, obviously had had too much to drink, before he wrote that quote.

@aaronssongs,
Can I say it again? thanks......

So what has the surge really produced? I think for the moment we are better off. But then we always have taken more of them than they us in gun battles. But the IUD explosive devices are again increasing in use and they are more deadly than last years use. More training and more explosives. This also means more infiltration of trained fighters. They will be wearing body armor soon.
Thats my view.

mlurp,
I do not have a problem with admitting when I am wrong...as I quite often am...being human.
However, when I feel that I am right, I will fight to the death for my conviction...as some around here have seen...nothing wrong with passion. I'm not dead, yet...tho' some may wish that I were (before my time)
Flattering yourself again i see.
On the above post of yours, are we to believe you wrote the definitions you posted? There was not a link? Have you read Silverchilds sig, LOL?

So what your saying is your against what Lincoln said. Your willing to forgo the military using the Congress as "sabotuers" for an end to your means. Isn't that treasonous?

Absolutely....Lincoln was just a man...just as George Bush is just a man...a flawed human being, just like the rest of us. He made mistakes. Bush has made many more mistakes, and more severe, that has cost tens of thousands of lives.
The military isn't the "end all and be all"....I wouldn't put my trust in the military, any more than I would put my trust in any one man, outside of God. It is the Congress, elected by the people, that empowers the military...not the other way around....go back and learn political science and government.
How could Congress, using The Constitution and the Bill of Rights as a guide and foundation, ever be "saboteurs" ( misspelled, yet again...pick up a dictionary)?

Treason[/SIZE]
Main Entry:
trea?son Listen to the pronunciation of treason
Pronunciation:
\ˈtrē-zən\
Function:
noun
Etymology:
Middle English tresoun, from Anglo-French traisun, from Latin tradition-, traditio act of handing over, from tradere to hand over, betray — more at traitor
Date:
13th century

1 : the betrayal of a trust : treachery 2 : the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family

We owe our allegiance to the flag and to the United States of America (remember the "pledge of allegiance").....not to the military...not even the president, if he's gone mad..and George Bush is crazy as a loon. He is not my president...I have never accepted the legitimacy of his tenure, as it was achieved by "hook and crook", unprecedented, in American history. I didn't like Nixon or Reagan , but they won the presidency 'fair and square"...even Papa Bush won, fair and square, if you can discount the dirty tricks (i.e. Willie Horton/ Dukakis soft on crime tactics).
I know thats hard for you to comprehend... but perhaps one of your cohorts could explain it to you.
George Bush and Dick Cheney are guilty of treason, and other high crimes, for which they need to be impeached. I'm not worried about the Congress, as much as I am worried about the executive branch, as it stands, that has sought to dilute the "checks and balances" of the other two branches of government, as well, as ignore the will and voice of the people. Anyone who cannot see that, or will not admit to that is blind, in denial, or an anarchist... (I know you don't know what that means...so pull out a dictionary , and become enlightened)

The whole, as in entire, point of the Surge? was to give the Iraqi government time to breathe, and get on it's feet. It went on vacation instead, and it plagued with in house discontent. Now that we have armed and sided with the Sunnis it is going to get even worse. Once again the US government taking the enemy of my enemy approach, you'd think they'd learn.

Your right to. Mine post was from a Military point of view. Your point is as important if not more so important. But what they do as a government isn't going to sway the US from it's goal and Iran and maybe Syria is included in that goal.
