@SWORD of GOD,
But the sinners had to repent. Jesus taught forgivness.

Just because he taught to live a good live doesn't mean he didn't also teach that we should worship God.

@z0z0,
I think that the lessons that Jesus taught and the examples that he set, that being a good person far outnumbered be a good worshiper.

How often did Jesus hold mass or worship his Father?
How many groundrules for worship did he provide?
Not many.

The vast majority of the worship rules were developed by the Church.

@SWORD of GOD,
The writings of the Apostles and definitely the Old Testament are littered with rules and guidelines.

Jesus never held a mass because he was Jewish. He did advocate keeping with God's command to keep the Sabbath Holy. He did give the bread and wine to his Apostles as his body and asked us to do this in rememberance of him. That is what Mass is about.

@SWORD of GOD,
"Overall, this information is way too general to decide. God wouldn't condemn someone without looking at every minute detail of their life."

Do we truly know who God would condemn?

@SWORD of GOD,
Don't you think He would take everything into account as He is ultimately just?

I'm not claiming to know who he would condemn, just putting forth a logical observation on how he would go about doing it.

@z0z0,
The OT is a guideline for Jews primarily.
Christians have moved beyond it.

The only guideline was to keep the Sabbath Holy - but the weird thing is that the Sabbath for Jesus the Jew was Saturday was it not? Then why is Sunday the Holy Day for Christian?

Sunday is the Sun (Son) Day or first day of the week. Sunday is the day of worship for Christians because "The Holy Spirit told us to do it to celebrate Christ's ressurection" according to some while others just wanted to be different from the Jews. (Could that be why the Muslim Sabbath is on Friday?)

@SWORD of GOD,
Do the Muslims also call it the Sabbath? I don't know. Anyway, yeah, it's basically because Sunday was the day of Christ's resurrection.

@z0z0,
Is that not interesting?

God tells us to keep the Sabbath holy (worship on the Sabbath).
Jesus never told us to worship on Sunday.

So the Church thought it was smarter than God or Jesus and making Sunday the day of worship.

Is this one of the flaws of the institution?

@SWORD of GOD,
Jesus gave Peter the authority to make things on Earth and they would be the same in heaven in the same breath as making him founder of the Church. I would assume this is passed on with reasonable limitation to Peter's succesors.

Well stated. I agree with this.

@SWORD of GOD,
"What we need is Jesus to come back and set up a blog and this time he could write first hand what the message is."

Great idea. Can we invite prophets from other religious beliefs and ask them what they think of each other?

I can imagine it. What if the prophets attempted to understand each other?

@z0z0,
If Jesus was God ....

Question: didn't Jesus cry and beg to be saved according to the Bible?!

"About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" {Matthew 27:46}.

If Jesus's intention was to be a sacrifice, why would he "Beg" and "Pray" to God to be saved ?!!!!!!!

@z0z0,
If Jesus was God ...

Question: If Jesus is God -as claimed by the christians- then he created Adam and he was there when Adam comitted his SIN. Then why Jesus did not sacrifice himself then to forgive the Sin!!? Why did He take thousands of years to do that sacrifice!!? Why He left millions of mankind just after Adam and before the coming of Jesus to suffer because of that Original Sin !!?

Was Jesus unsure of what to do and how to forgive that Sin when Adam made the Sin!!? Is that why it took Him thousands of years to figure it out!!?

@z0z0,
Sword - do you know that any of these passages mean rather than just throwing them out for discussion? You throw out quotes but you do not say anything about it.

Jesus lost his connection to God because Jesus took on the Sins of Mankind.
"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Jesus became sin for us. He became sin, He took on our sin, He was cursed and abandoned and forsaken, all to save us from our sin.

"Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" — "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" The answer: sin — your sin, my sin.
As for Adam and Original Sin which got Adam and Eve exiled from the Garden of Eden - God put man to the test to see what he would do. Through the OT God tells people what to do but people still keep screwing up and that is why God wipes out humanity a few times (also basis for Quran). The issue is free will.

What Jesus did by taking on human form (a form man can comprehend) is that he showed us the model of what kind of a person we should be. He showed us that even by taking on the Original Sin and other sins as well we can still be accepted into Heaven. Jesus was the ultimate role model.
