No -- it would help to ID the other actor.

I have no idea who that actor is. At first I thought it was Ernest Cossart from "Desire", but the guy in the picture has too much hair and is much younger.

Back to the drawing board.

The actor is Sydney Toler. No idea what movie it is though.

Pre-Charlie Chan Sydney Toler. This should give the title away.

Thank you Lineman.

Blonde Venus

(But what happened to her blonde hair?)

As I recall, she begins the film with darker hair. Correct.

I don't know, LW. When I thought it might be Dietrich I looked through my book The Films of Marlene Dietrich. No pictures of Sydney Toler and none of her with dark hair under the film Blonde Venus. But, I'd have never guessed Sydney Toler.

I'd like to pass taking a turn as I'll not be back here again until tomorrow evening and don't want to hold up the game. Thank you.

Some earler pictures of Dietrich do reveal her hair was not as blond -- I would not doubt that the hair is out of a bottle.

Yes. Marlene's hair was dark brown until she made The Blue Angel. She was put on a strict diet for Blonde Venus. You'd hardly recognize her from earlier photos.

I've tried unsuccessfully to post a picture here (from Google) at least six times. So, I'm giving up for the time being.

I'll pass my turn. Thank you!

I remember she wore wigs for that film.

You're likely having capatability problems with the site you're trying to post from like IMDb which I've not had any luck with.

I'm using Google images, L.W. Let's see if this one takes.

This is a problem with A2K's image poster. I'll try it for you.

Is the original a .jpeg or .gif file? I'll try it in the browser.

Should report this to A2K Help -- I tried to recreate the link and it will not post.

This is what I was trying to post (from Google Images. I thought it would work because it's jpg.)
