North Korea threatens Japan

From Yahoo News:

SEOUL, South Korea - A North Korean official threatened "strong countermeasures" against Japan for new sanctions against the communist regime, Kyodo News agency reported from Pyongyang on Thursday.

The Japanese government decided on a package of additional economic sanctions against North Korea on Wednesday in response to the regime's claim of a nuclear test, including a ban on all imports from the country and the docking of North Korean ships in Japanese ports.

The sanctions are expected to go into effect after they are approved by Japan's Cabinet Friday.

"We will take strong countermeasures," Kyodo quoted Song Il Ho, North Korea's ambassador in charge of diplomatic normalization talks with Japan, as saying in an interview on Wednesday when asked about fresh sanctions by Japan.

"The specific contents will become clear if you keep watching. We never speak empty words," he added.
***************************************************

So there we go....what I expected is already in the news just a couple of days after their nuclear test. This is exactly what they are all about. They have a country were only the military are fed. Non military people are starving to death. This how this guy keeps the North Koreans under control and this how is going to mess up Asia. Iran is his partner in crime. Watch them both. They are the new Hitlers, the world is watching and doing nothing. What's worse is that some of our western politicians are actually supporting these guys by sticking their heads in the sand and bad mouthing their own governments. Same thing happened in the 1930's, yes history does repeat it self.

@BonaParte cv,
Bush has had his head stuck in the sand since he came into office in regards to the problems we are now faced with in Korea and Iran.

Does anyone believe imposing further sanction against Korea is going to make them suddenly open their eyes? I believe they will get a lot worse as long as Bush is in charge.

It came as no surprise that Japan imposed their own sanctions. At least they don't need other nations to enforce their foreign policy for them like the U.S.

@GoodBoy,
First thing I would do is get someone to negotiate with Korea who knew what they were doing.

Hitler also negotiated and did want he wanted anyways.

North Koreans do the same and don't give a crap about negotiating.
I say bomb their facilities and bomb them hard.
It either that or get bomb here. Very simple.
No Mr. Nice Guy as we are in Iraq.

@BonaParte cv,
The use of force seems to be the Republican way. That policy doesn't work. But then again nothing Bush has done seems to work. His useless foreign policy is a joke.

@BonaParte cv,
Maybe we should deal with Korea ourselves instead of letting other nations speak for us.

@tumbleweed cv,
When Bush went on his own dealing with Sadam the UN was bi-tch-ing.
Now Coffee Anon wants Bush to deal with Korea on his own.......
That Anon guy can't just make up his mind can he?
Good thing Anon is out this fall.
I bet they will appoint a Muslim to the UN or worse: Bill Clinton.

@BonaParte cv,
They appointed a South Korean.

No wonder the U.N. was complaining, it seems there were no WMD on the scale the U.S. was saying was there. Too bad we didn't listen to them.

@tumbleweed cv,
The UN is a farce.
No one listens to them.
They don't enforce their resolutions.
They should shut it down, it's a waste of money.
Their leaders are whimps.
Former secretary-general Adenauer was a nazi.

If you don't believe in the UN, you don't believe in democracy, it is a democracy of the nations after all.

@Brent cv,
Correction. I'm not a LIBERAL. Pointing out shortfalls in the Republican party doesn't make anyone a Liberal.

His only option is at the moment is the U.N.
That doesn't seem to be working either.Very Happy

@BonaParte cv,
You know good and well why we have to go through the UN first. So why ask? If the US did not first attempt to get the UN involved the entire world would have a fit and cry about it for hundreds of years. Even though they never do anything to stop the problem and expect us to do it all.

@Brent cv,
From what I heard today Bush sanctions aren't being recieved very well by Russia and China so that seems to be another lost cause.

At some point Bush will have to roll up his sleeves and actually do something. Until then he is just another talking head.

I don't see how you can even start calling Bush a talking head. Unlike the previous administration, Bush has backed up almost all of what he said with action. Afghanistan, Iraq; the reason he is doing this now is to appease all the weak minded countrys that believe throwing some sort of sanction on a country fixes the problems. How long was Iraq under sanctions? How many times did they outright disobey them? Did sanctions fix the problem (I.E. Saddam) in Iraq? No, kicking ass did. Sure, they have problems now too, but not near as bad as being gassed by the leader of the country, living in fear and oppression. Sanctions won't do any good to a rogue country led by an egotistical dictator with small man's syndrome.
