I agree, but some would argue about child porn and hate websites. What about those?

To some a catalog showing bathing suits is a porn site and to some who are members of the "Snot and bawling club" any opinion is the isn't a mirror image on theirs is considered hate. That would be the Liberals or the left/left socialist. The internet should remain open and free to all with safe guards to protect users from abusers. I belong to a group that tracks males/females who like to send threatening emails to those whose opinions differ from theirs and thus they need to send vile emails to get their message across. Abusers should have no access to the internet, an opinion is just that and someone shouldn't be exposed to abuse based on an opinion.

@markx15,
I believe internet users should be registerd. Internet activity on users should be tracked, not by men, but by computer programs that highlight only activity that has been predetermined by law as irregular. The monitering of the internet should be done by an international agency, preferably the UN, with those who refuse to comply being completly cut off from the WWW. The criteria for establishing an activity as irregular must be without influence from any ideology, and the material not censored, but those who access it are submisable to the full penalty forseen in the law.

This is nuts. You have to be kidding. You're supporting international tyranny. Forget it.

i'd be a poor bastard if it wasn't for the internet. i'd probably still be waiting tables.

as for monitoring..... its an outright invasion of privacy.

might as well install a homing device in your brain so cops can find you

@markx15,
Let me rewind here. Heres an example: For instance the monitering can not be made by humans, but should be done by machines who would not save information, it would merely scan the internet for keywords/frases such as: underage sex. It would then highlight the website bringing it to proper attention so that the apropriate predetermined action could be executed.

@markx15,
You're talking about fighting internet crime. That's different. Cops in America already have ways of tracking a lot of that.

Chris Hansen, if you're watching, be advised:

I AM NOT NOW, NOR EVER HAVE BEEN, AWARE THAT ANYONE HERE IS OVER THE AGE OF 90. THEY ALL INDICATED THEY WERE YOUNGER THAN THAT.

@markx15,
That is exactly what I am talking about, I reconsidered the registering of internet users, that would be too personal. Tracking general internet traffic though. Is that even possible? Also I believe we should have at least a simplistic code as to internet behaviour, that was international. I think a good thing would be to implement anything that isn't opposed by any party.
