I am not a professional Latin scholar, just a guy who does this for fun.
If you intend to have a Latin phrase tattooed on your tummy, engraved
on a ring or carved into a tombstone, then please have someone else
review the translation. For something that absolutely, positively has to
be correct, I'd strongly suggest hiring a pro.
If, on the other hand, you wanted something like "seize the beer" in
Latin to be stencilled onto a bbq chef's apron, then what I can do is
probably good enough.
@George,
He's not a professional. He just speaks it with the family, and subscribes to The Latin Channel.
And when he says his prayers at night before going to bed, he adds "Yankees delenda est."
@roger,
. . . and sits in on the ocassional Gregorian Chant doo-wop session
@George,
I'm watching this enterprise get off the rocks, G, and I've had another epiphany...
you need a logo.
tattoos by latin George. mebbe with a barbwire band, or even your little flippin' off dude in the toga from yahoo baseball...
this has potential wrote all over it.
so, when you suggested Est-Ray In-Ay Eice-Pay for my headstone, i should have got a second opinion?

I once went to get one of those barbwire tattoos around my biceps.
But the tattoo artist couldn't stop giggling long enough to do it.
@djjd62,

No.
That is EXACTLY what you want on your headstone.
Trust me.
@George,
I appreciate the honesty and humble nature of this confession. Now if only the new singular day residents will learn this lesson as well.
@George,
Thanks for your honesty George

So - have you taken delivery of your headstone yet?
@George,
George, can you help? How would you translate the below phrase into Latin...
"As men we live, as men we die."
@margo,
i wish, it's all bought and paid for, but apparently they make it up when you die
@George,
Hi George,
would you be able to translate the following for me?
"Life is yours"
"Do not follow the script"
I've been trying to find it on the internet but the websites just translate word for word not the proper phrase...Thanks!
