Should The Colors of this Site be Changed?

For those of us who are Firefox users, spend a lot of time on this site, and would like to customize the background colors, font styles, sizes and colors there is a way to do so without it being too strenuous. Here's how to do it:

Click Tools in the Firefox menu bar, then select Options. On the Options popup window, select the Advanced button to customize the font style and size. Be sure to uncheck the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above." To change the colors, return to the Options popup and select the Colors button to customize the colors on your screen. Be sure to uncheck the boxes that say "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above" and "Use system colors." Click on the various color buttons to bring up a color chooser box for each variable.

When you want to return to the default colors for this and other websites, just check those same boxes that you previously unchecked.

Here is a screen shot of a warmer color scheme example that may be better for some:

It isn't perfect, but might help dull the harsh "whiteness" that is bothersome to some.

Remember, you have to uncheck and check those boxes to switch between your customized colors and the default colors of the sites you visit.

Reds and oranges and greens and tans.

I like tangerine park, clouds of sadness (what melancholy!!), flabbergasted, even old tyme.

What a great color coded site!

Perhaps one of the new options could be to leave it as is?

@tsarstepan,
I like clouds of sadness too, again, my only gripe the yellowness of the light color. It was a push-pull for me on that or the soul (etc) choice. I liked tangerine park, but on a daily basis it would probably increase my craziness.

I would use this current color scheme as default and have several others
to choose from. Perhaps one skin could be the exact colors as the former
philosophy forum, so "our" philis feel more welcome.

Yes, that would be my solution, as well.

@Reyn,
That would be cool if our dear RG would let us all customize our a2k experience.

I just happen to have a dark and melancholic soul. Neutral

Does the amount of light in the room where one surfs the internet have anything to do with color preferences on the screen?

Ok, when we do the upcoming design overhaul we'll do it in a way that let's members pick from various different color schemes (perhaps even in a way that lets them do it themselves).

I'd be interested in seeing which of these color schemes you like the most, for example:

Explorations in clay.

It's great that we'll have a choice.

I have become used to the clinical look....but I always like warmer colours.

That site is lovely! I have been bathing in colour!

I'm with JPB. I'm not keen on change. If we have the choice of leaving things the way they are, that would be great.

I wasn't clear in my response.

If we are given choices as to how our screens would look, I would like one of those choices to be the present screen.
