Let's take a closer look inside the lives of various A2K'ers

I thought it would be interesting to post photos of the various members of this site going about their everyday lives. Oh sure, you think you know them, but you really don't. Here's my plan: I've got a lot of time and money on my hands so I thought I'd travel around the globe and take candid shots of some of the site members. I have just returned from Australia. I thought I'd get a snapshot of dlowan, since she is the reigning "post leader" and deserves some sort of accolades for that rather dubious honor. Dlowan, unfortunately, has a drinking problem. I'm not sure if it's the stress of her job, battlings aborigines on a daily basis, fending off aggressive platypi, or whatever, but there is something that drives her to drink. Here's a shot of Dlowan at home, after a day on the job...

Here I am, checking out some material for some new drapes. This one's a bit busy, don't you think? Laughing

This next one surprised me. I took a journey to Canada, to visit the hometown of Cavfancier. Upon arriving I asked around town where I might find Cav the chef. One old timer looked at me and said, "Huh? Cav the Chef? The only Cavfancier in this town is the accountant down yonder."
He pointed to a rather nondescript building with a simple sign that read, Cavfancier and Associates -- Accountants and Bus Drivers

All of a sudden the old timer started laughing and slapped his knee. "I get it!" he said. "You think Cav is a chef because he likes wearin' those damn hats!"

I was a bit perplexed by the man's behavior. I strode down to the accountant's building and peeked in the window. There was Cav, at the lunch table with the rest of the office workers. Can you pick him out?

My next stop was Germany and a search for the enigmatic Walter Hinteler. I was told Walter usually hung around the outskirts of the Black Forest, playing golf or reading history books. As I drove by the golf course, sure enough, there he was walking down the 4th fairway. I stopped my car, got out, walked over to the fence.

"Hey, Walter!" I yelled. "C'mere, I want to take your picture for A2K!"

Walter approached warily. He seemed confused that someone would know him. He looked around cautiously, almost as he suspected a trap of some kind.

I snapped the picture.

In fact, I've been stalking Gus around the world and he's moving in on Margo fast. It won't be long now till he finds you:

Phoenix, I love your new drapery fabric. I thought you might like to see an example of my house interior remodeling to give you ideas for your own redecorating.

Just this weekend I was invited to a housewarming where the owners had renovated a rather 50's house to fit their collection of stuff from ........many places. Who are they? I don't know quite, except that they are dually retired and it is harder to figure if either knows more, they both have rich experience.

Hours later I was mellowing out on objects from Usbekistan and Turkistan and many other places.

Probably but not necessarily good for the person who did the work. Or many levels between.

I always want the person who actually did the work to benefit, but I am very doubtful in most circumstances of that coming true.

I hate for people who did the work to be at the low end, no matter how explanable the process, of decades, centuries, is.
