Whew!

Thanks for enlightening me.

Then again, you might just've told me that in order to have me make you fried chicken & mashed taters. Hmmm.

It would have been ironic, wouldn't it, if he HAD been in there. Sorta like that horrible custom in India of a widow being immolated at her husband's cremation...

Interesting. The umps would have a tougher union than the players. Scary thought...

I thought I'd share something funny from one of my Rotisserie sites:

Quote:
News:
Third baseman Tony Batista returned to Expos' camp on Tuesday after battling the chicken pox for 12 days. Batista fielded grounders and participated in batting practice on Tuesday. As for his hiatus, "I did nothing, really. Read the Bible, watched TV, prayed a lot. Those 12 days helped me a lot. I think it happened for a good reason," Batista told the Montreal Gazette. "I didn't see anybody outside. I just stayed inside. It drove me crazy a little bit."

Views:
Batista should have no trouble being ready for Opening Day, although he may now need to enter therapy due to his addiction to calamine lotion.

I just want to know if he crossed himself and pointed at the sky when he finished praying or watching TV or reading the Bible.

I have fond memories of calamine lotion from my youth. We used to apply it for mosquito bites. Looked weird but it was soothing. Kinda caked up after it dried, though...

Could I have been getting off on it and not knowing it at the time?

didn't the mimeograph create those purple-ink copies? i think '74 or '75 was the last time i got those, in elementary school.

Yeah, that was the machine. Ditto machines created similar products. One had a particular pungent chemical odor. Or maybe they both did...

Anyhow, back to baseball...Anyone want to hazard a guess on what teams will do well next season? The AL East looks especially interesting, with so many teams buying big talent this past winter.

I have a feeling there is to be an uprising in the Yankee organization - Steinbrenner must be getting quite upset watching Trumph have all the fun firing all them people and the publicity that he gets for it...............

He may need his own reality show. That's one I might have to watch!

uh, his reality show has been on the air since '73 Smile
he does 162 shows per year, then usually some extra specials during sweep's month (october)... i'll never forget all those episodes when he voted billy martin off the island. that was some quality television...

Ah, yes, that was entertaining, for sure. Frankly, he's a lot more fun when the team fails in the post season. I think things will be really fun if that happens again this year!

For sure. Just as it was last year and the year before that . When will he learn that you can't buy a championship?

Considering their payroll, year in and year out, NYY's track record really isn't that impressive...
