SHOUD PROPERLY HAVE SAID:
I remember that it was only one year later, July of 1969 [ NOT 1960 ]
that I stayed home from work and watched the Moon Landing on TV with my Mom,
Blast Off thru Landing; the entire event.

The Launch was on July 16, 1969.
The First Lunar Landing was on July 20, 1969; my apologies, everyone.

@dyslexia,
I will just say out right here that my pal and I made love on the floor in front of the tv during the moon landing, in my apartment. That was in july '69. Much by mistake, we talked again, in something like 2004. We enjoyed our phone conversation. No regrets.

But that is not what this thread is about.

Carry on, nurses.

Oh, good, dys, you were in school.

Tranlating all this, I thing being in New York is swell.

YES! Thanks for that correction, Dys.
I was guilty of a typo; shame on me.

@ossobuco,
is this somehow boring to all of you?

I'll admit it was about boring to us, but I don't get the lack of interest.

Maybe you all hated my carpet.

Well, first, Powell's - did you get there?
Yeah; I know Powell. He attends a right wing libertarian group
called The Junto once a month; its a good place.

Marlow's in Santa Monica, what low lifes, I loved it.
To get to the bathroom you had to pass porn..
Some of my favorite books are from there, early italian stuff, plus old crime thriller paperbacks.

An antiquarian place in San Francisco, way above my purview

The Michelangelo library in Firenze

Where an olden abuzzer posted, Touissant? in Paris. She was so smart on books...

The early Hennessey & Ingalls re architecture et al.

Rizzoli, in New York, I just walked past it, just as well.
I could not have not bought something.
Yeah; I 've been there. I used to hang around 54th St & Madison Ave., nearby
for several years in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Okay, Bunny. It appears I'll arrive tomorrow and Thomas has arranged to show me the subway and meet up with you tomorrow evening if you are open for dinner.

Then on Friday I can take the subway in by myself to hang out with you for the day. We can do whatever you like.

We'll meet up again Saturday for lunch with everyone and whatever follows for the afternoon / evening.

Sunday morning I'll be cheering on Thomas and Joe in the marathon. Not sure what time you leave Sunday. Thomas said he'll finish up around 11am. Was it decided if eBeth could make it in Sunday?

I'm so excited! This is gonna be fun!

@dlowan,
I eat anything. I'm not drawn to weird concoctions, such as octopus or eel, but most places have a chicken option when these things are on the menu.

So, no suggestions due to never having been to NYC, but also no limits.

@dlowan,
You're funny, Bunny! Ya know it could just be whatever we are in front of when we decide we are hungry, right?

Unless someone has an "OMG you can't be in NYC without eating at..." kinda suggestion.

I got the name of a jazz club for you, bunny. Not touristy. You won't get ripped off. And the music is good. My contact tells me that's it's where musicians go to hear jazz. He hasn't been there for a while though. I'll give you the info tonight.
