He's dreaming of thousands of people in the Seattle streets, singing songs and carrying signs, in a "Ghandi-esque mass protest that will shut down the WTO"
What does "Ghandi-esque" mean? I cannot find it in any dictionary.
@vickie007,
It means "like Ghandi". Ghandi led protests against British rule of India.
@vickie007,
He stood for non-violent protest.
His name is spelled Gandhi.
Perhaps you might want to refer to his bio on Wikipedia?
Mohandas K. Gandhi

@vickie007,
unfortunately the acronym is meaningless
@oolongteasup,
WTO = World Trade Organization
@vickie007,
Vickie, it's a suffix so there couldn't be an entry for every possible combination. Try looking it up as '-esque'.
Here's one example.
==========================
http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/esque
-esque suffix /-esk/
like or in the style of someone or their work
Dali-esque
Leonardo-esque
Working there was like being trapped in a Kafkaesque nightmare.

@engineer,
Quote:It means "like Ghandi".
I may be splitting hairs, but I think, in this case, it means
protests like the ones that Ghandi generated.
