@vonny,
True, true.

On the narrow walkway and all the flowers - I'm not totally against plants being in that place. It was a reaction to that particular mass of plants - and I can see others liking them.

@ossobuco,
I believe that that place, Spello, Umbria, has more to offer than flowers..

@timur,
I didn't notice it was Spello - have a book on Spello somewhere in my mass of italy books, read it decades ago, but haven't been there.

When I send an e-mail I always add a picture.
You have all such special pictures that tonight I copied several of them into e-mails which I will use during the week when I mail someone.

@ossobuco,
A pair of damselflies photographed in close-up in Italy's Po Valley both informs and entertains revealing the insects in fascinating detail. Don't they look like two little aliens holding hands?

@cicerone imposter,
If I were on the path in either of those photos, I would probably be literally scared to death. I'm somewhat acrophobic anyway in more ordinary places.
On the other hand, once when we were in Guatemala going up a vertiginous grade in a rickety bus, there were Mayans carrying very heavy stuff up all that way on foot. I suppose their lungs and muscles are used to it, and they have the immense need to do that lift and carry to survive, survival a good motive. Which remind me of the Sebastiano Salgado photo of the goldminers (no link).

@vonny,
That's a nice photo. Interesting building problem - they probably couldn't do a foundation to make the building level. Or are my eyes looking at it wrong?
