I can't see either picture now - earlier I could see only mine, and then both, now
if all you see is a red-X ...

right-click, get properties, copy paste url in address bar, then come back here and the image should re-appear...

@vonny,
I can't see either picture unless I do the old mac trick of holding down control and clicking on the little blue x (in pcs, something red).

@Region Philbis,
I can see all of the url quite clearly, but can't do anything with it! No crosses of any colour on the post. Unable to paste it, or add URL or Img, or cut and paste - but it's the only picture like that, all the rest I can see perfectly well. If I right click it and go to view image, then I get a blank page with a message at the top telling me that I do not have permission to access the picture of the spider's web - all very strange!

@vonny,
the site you took it from does not allow hotlinking...

@Rockhead,
What's hotlinking? Oops - don't forget I'm still pretty new to computers and computing, and to posting stuff on threads! I didn't find the picture originally but I did see it easily enough - for a while, anyway!

@vonny,
basically whoever owns the picture has made it so you cannot reproduce it elsewhere for free.

using computer voodoo.

Eeeew ... everything I do on this machine is computer voodoo to me! I hit delete on the BBCode Editor the other day and was told I'd killed a gnome! Yikes - what gnome?

Thanks for the explanation though - basic and simple are words that appeal to me in explanations - anything more than that and I get confused!!! Embarrassed Laughing

@vonny,
Your picture reminded me of pictures we have seen when people dredged up planes in the ocean that were there since WWII.

@cicerone imposter,
I've seen the type of pictures you mean - it is like that. Quite beautiful in a strange way, but rather sad at the same time.

@vonny,
The only thing missing are the stories behind those pictures. I'm sure they can be very interesting.

@cicerone imposter,
One's own imagination can provide stories for the pictures where no background information is supplied, perhaps? Sometimes even more interesting than the real thing!

@Region Philbis,
I've seen similar rock formations in Malta-Gozo and Cabo San Lucas. Where is that one?

Well here's a video that gets me.

There was a football player - Steve Gleason - with the New Orleans Saints that, post his football years, was going for an MBA at Tulane, about to finish, and was diagnosed two and a half years ago with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, one tough terminal disease.

He's fighting it and trying to help others with it.

So this video is he and his wife and child and other friends (Scott Fujita, also of the Saints) and another fellow with the disease, Kevin Swan, at Machu Pichu.

Here's the video: http://vimeo.com/64781849
It's short.

Here's an article he typed, using his eyes and technology:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20130617/steve-gleason-monday-morning-quarterback/?sct=hp_t12_a2&eref=sihp

The article is longer, but strongly worth a read.
